This has been achieved through knitting of polyglycolic acid braided yarn into tubular form and coating polycaprolactanenano fibres on the surface. Drug loaded antimicrobial silk suture have been developed for use in both wound closure and wound healing with the object of preventing infections at the surgical area. The material has been found to have satisfactory suture properties. A breathable woven surgical gown with antimicrobial and liquid repellent properties has been developed by finishing with nanoparticles of silver and fluorocarbon using pad-dry-cure method.
