  CURRENT TRENDS IN FASHION TECHNOLOGY & TEXTILE ENGINEERING - JUNIPER PUBLISHERS Abstract The Brazilian population is composed of 23.9% of people with disabilities. These citizens live in search of equal rights, possibilities and opportunities in relation to others. Designers can collaborate developing products that fit the body, needs and skills of this population, promoting autonomy, independence and quality of life. Fashion is a daily use product that can be designed to assist disabled users and their caregivers in the act of dressing and undressing. Co-Wear: Functional Fashion Co-creation Method was developed to bring together designers and people with disabilities in the development of functional and inclusive clothing. Journal of Fashion Technology -  Juniper publishers Abstract The relative non-toxic metal azo dyes present in wastewaters may be transported to long-distances where the metallic ion and the azo ligand may separate and manifest their own ecotoxicities. The environmental factors which can affect this may be too complex to monitor, and the case of on-site treatment at dye manufacturing or textile facilities is developed in this narrative. A simple mono-azo dye, namely, Eriochrome Black T, is introduced to illustrate molecular structures of metal azo dyes and possible candidate for ad hoc, preliminary testing of future treatment methods. Journal of Fashion Technology -  Juniper publishers Abstract The article provides useful insights on some recent and significant trends in the role of textiles in tissue engineering. Textile scaffolds can be found in a variety of application areas in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. In the present study we used electrostatic flocking-a well-known textile technology-to produce scaffolds for tissue engineering of bone. Flock scaffolds stand out due to their unique structure: parallel arranged fibers that are aligned perpendicularly to a substrate, resulting in mechanically stable structures with a high porosity. The benefits offered by microfibrous scaffold architectures fabricated by textile manufacturing techniques are discussed. The problems related to the development of biomaterial fibers (especially from nature-derived materials) ready for textile manufacturing are addressed.
